Wed	19:00	(A13)	1 hr	Mark Protection Committee Meeting The Mark Protection Committee manages the service marks ("Worldcon", "Hugo Award", etc.) of the World Science Fiction Society. The committee, which is the only permanent body of WSFS, consists of members appointed by Worldcon committees and others elected by the WSFS Business Meeting. This meeting is open to all members.

Thu	17:00	(A16)	1 hr	How Did We get to Where We Are? A Brief History of the Hugos We take a look at the awards from the first Science Fiction Achievement Awards in 1953. Categories have come and gone over the years, including the #1 Fan Personality. What category was strongly considered to be dropped in the mid-70s? Why were there so many variations in the categories? How were the winners chosen, really? Other alternatives?
Sat	14:00	(A13)	1 hr	Why Fans are Good at Running Conventions, and How did that Happen? It may be a little ironic to discuss that at the Worldcon, which is our least manageable convention and always has a few breakdowns; but fannish conrunning methods and styles have been written up by professional meeting organizer publications. A positive look.
Sun	11:00	(A13)	2 hrs	Mark Protection Committee Meeting This committee manages the WSFS service marks like "Worldcon" and "Hugo Award" and consists of members elected by the Business Meeting and appointed by Worldcon committees. The new members elected by the Business Meeting will take their seats, and officers are selected for the new year. This meeting is open to all convention members.
