Program Participant
Evelyn C. Leeper
Evelyn Leeper discovered fandom when then-future husband Mark signed her up for the UMass SF Society in 1968. In 1978 they founded the Science Fiction Club at Bell Labs and their own (soon) weekly fanzine, which has gone through several title changes until it settled down as the weekly MT VOID (pronounced "Empty Void") which has now had over 1600 issues. She has been nominated for the Hugo for Best Fan Writer twelve times for her convention reports, travelogues, and book reviews, and is currently a judge for the Sidewise Awards for alternate history.

Sidewise Awards
The Sidewise judges present the awards, then debate whether a book or story is alternate history or something else. What makes something alternate history instead of secret history? Is steampunk a subset of alternate history or does each story have to be examined on its own merits? |
