Program Participant
Robert Reed
Robert Reed was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and after seventeen years of crushing boredom, he moved west to the fabled metropolis of Lincoln. He has published nearly a dozen novels, including the well-received Marrow. His short fiction can be found in Asimov's and F&SF as well as many other markets. A collection of novellas, including one near-novel, should be released this year by PS Publishing. His novella, "A Billion Eves," won the Hugo in 2007.
Reed lives on the plains with his wife and daughter, plus various critters and vermin. Hobbies include ponds, running, and talking about ponds and running.

The Craft of Writing Short Science Fiction and Fantasy

The story may be serious or comic, a pleasure to read or a tale that won't let you stop reading until it is done with you. How does the writer craft effective short fiction? What techniques help the writer achieve success? We go beyond the "good idea" and discuss the craft of writing. |
