Tony Fabris
Vixy & Tony (Michelle Dockrey and Tony Fabris) have been performing acoustic music as a duo since 2005. Their folk/rock musical style, and science fiction and fantasy lyrics, combine to tell engaging stories. Vixy was formerly the lead singer and songwriter for the band Escape Key, whose album Shadowbeast contains the Pegasus-award-winning song "Girl That's Never Been." Vixy & Tony have together released the album Thirteen, containing the Pegasus-award-winning songs "Emerald Green," "Six String Love" and the Firefly-inspired hit, "Mal's Song." Their live performances are highlighted by Tony's skillfully played acoustic guitar, and Vixy's smooth, sultry voice. They are currently working on their second album, and can frequently be found playing with cellist Betsy Tinney and violinist Sunnie Larsen.

Home Recording I
Everybody wants to make a demo. What can you do with what you've got? If that won't do - and it probably won't - what do you really need to create a good demo? How little can you get away with; or, if you have even a small budget, what can you do to turn a spare bedroom into decent recording space? Hardware and software solutions are discussed. |

Home Recording II
Everybody wants to make a demo. Okay, you have some equipment. Now what do you do with it? How do you set it up; how do you use it to capture or create the best sounds you can? If you didn't make the first hour; that's okay, come anyway. Take your show on the road -- What's it take to put together a good starter sound system for performing, as they say, "out," in front of the public? What's it take to run such a system, and how can you record your live performances cheaply yet well enough to share? Come listen to our panel of sound techs and performers talk about their setups. |
